Clothing Makes a Portrait
Your apparel play an important roll in the finished product. There are do's and don'ts when it comes to your outfits. Here are some tips:
DO'S
-
Wear solid colors. Prints or extravagant prints/fabrics can catch the attention instead of the person being photographed.
-
Choose similar tones from top to bottom (light to dark)
-
In group portraits keep the colors minimal. (1-3 colors prederably)
-
Do not try out new things with your hair/makeup.
-
Wear what makes you feel comfortable.
-
Keep Jewelry minimal and simple.
-
Dress for the season and occasion.
DONT'S
-
Cordinate but do not match.
-
No logos, characters, labels etc.
-
Do not wear trendy clothing. Photograph can last forever, fashion trends...not so much.
-
Do not experiment with hair and makeup.
